Snif sniff sob sob, goodbye to the people that I've worked together with so closely for the last 3 and the half years. It has a been a great run, and who knows I might be back? I've never met a more hard working, yet playful team. I love the tea-time moments, and I shall leave to be known as one of the Pakpoh of the project...Muaehahehahe. You guys will miss me, the days will be quieter without me there....:D
*On a side note, I'm also going on an extended holiday. Photos and stories to come are not too be missed! Toodles!*

Yip Chee May Big Bun
Had dinner with my parents and considering they ate bits and pieces throughout the day, my uncle bought us some BIG BUNS... (check out the size compared to the normal ones).
It didn't taste great to be honest, the meat had bones and skin, so it was like chicken stew with bread.
It can be bought in Taman Connought but I heard that it can also be bought nearby my apartment in a van in Dataran Sunway (next to the famous tofufa).

This weekend was the first meeting between the owners of Opal and the Management with the developer. The election was carried out and I volunteered as one of its committee members. I guess everyone likes to whinge about the problems in the apartment, (as do I) and I think maybe its better to be pro-active about problems rather than ignore them, wishing someone would do something.
The quorum was supposed to be 58 owners (1/4 of residents) but we didn't manage that which is a shame because the apartment is a joint community living, and in order to see change, we must get involved. Owners out there, get involved!

be excited, little one
for the path is a long and winding one
be not afraid of monsters along the way
for they only scare
do not allow your fear to control you
Do not whimper in the darkness
Every challenge you surpass
gains you another day;
Seek solace within you.
The fairytale castle awaits!
Sadness is a passing moment, lil one
be brave against the turmoils ahead
be excited about life
be excited in all its glory

A few months ago, someone told me that the definition of 'shagged' is being tired and sent me a picture of me running in the KLIM marathon looking worse for wear. But all this while, I've always refered to the term 'shagged' from the Austin Powers movie as *ahem ahem*
This week (and maybe even last week or this month) as been a crazy week @ work. Manyak manyak benda buat oi... I'm not paticularly good at multi tasking, and its starting to feel that I'm missing stuff out. There is no such thing as 50% on one thing and 50% on the other, because u lose about 10 to 15% in the transition.
So really, you get maybe 40 % effort on 1 thing and 40% on another. So imagine, u trying to do 3-4 things at a time, and and if we measure the rate of productivity lost at a linear rate, we are losing up to 40-60% when you starting multi tasking so much.
Basically you are performing at half the level you could be on any tasks. So, bottom line, I'm shagged ( and perhaps I was born to write a business book on work allocation already based on my analysis above....) tee hee hee

The second treasure hunt of the year... This was probably one of the better value hunts I've done.. For a RM70 registration fee, we got a nice orange shirt, cap, towel, cloth bag, a very decent breakfast (meehon, mee, curry, breads, coffee and tea), and even better lunch (appetizers, beers, wine, awesome spread of dishes and even a roast!)
The day started out with Pamela and Vanessa Chong from Amazing Race Asia 2 flagging us off. The entire concept of this race was not really something I would have done had I known there were more challenges than actual questions. (Actually, now when I think back to the title of this, it actually says Hunteroos Race, and not
treasure hunt so it might have even been my own fault). The entire race was VERY Australian centric.
First challenge? Posing a creative pose with props of an Australian landmark. We chose to do the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Nevertheless we were not very convincing with our bendable twig, and water bottle and man made boat...
Next challenge was my favourite, FLYING FOX. This is where i really saw the value of this race. ALL team members did the Flying Fox in KL Tower which was great. It was the questions after that which I didnt
enjoy. It involved Sight and Slang. Sight meaning identifying pictures of Australian items, and Slang is translating Aussie slang into normal English.
Gripes:
To Timeout Solutions, please note that KIWI is NOT Australian and is from NEW Zealand, do a bit of research before setting this a SIGHT question, will you?
My next gripe has got to be the fact that this was labelled as a WALK/LRT hunt but all the venues
were TOO far from each other to walk and not even
LRT friendly. From 3 Kia Peng Apartments, we went to Public Bank intersection in KLCC, then to KL Tower then to Petaling Street then to Brickfields and back to 3 Kia Peng Apartments.
Mid way through, we noticed some teams were using cab, and we called the organisers to confirm that using cab was allowed. WHAT DA???? This was NEVER stated during the briefing, and you dare call this a Walk/LRT hunt and we gotta use CAB? It's OK to state it as part of the rules but say solar.. Apalar..
Gripe 3 - One of the challenges was Aussie slang, and the rule was no CALLS or reference of that kind. The marshall at that station, c'monlar, u wanna set this kind of rule, be a bit more diligent in making sure ppl dont cheat. We only got 3/10 right in this section but saw a handful of ppl EVEN though not making calls, surfing net with GPRS.
Another one of the challenges was in Hotel Malaya to taste some Aussie food and identify it. We completely missed this and overshot to Brickfields not knowing we had to do this. Here is where Gripe number 4 comes... If you dont wanna explain where and when all challenges need to be done in the briefing, then be VERY clear on the instructions. In the second station, we were given 2 pieces of paper, one said go to Petaling Street, and another was a question sheet. So we did the questions in Petaling Street and went on to the next section of the question sheet which was in Brickfields... If we were not supposed to go there direct, DONT put the questions for Brickfields first!!! Give it to us AFTER the Hotel Malaya challenge...
The final challenge was do play the didgeridoo, do a Aussie Rule handball, and throw a boomerang.. This was a pure luck challenge, which is quite high-school-telematch ridiculous. Throughout the race, we also had to look for a missing 'Roo' where we could double our points. Nevertheless, we didnt see it, and it was some guy wearing a shirt in the Flying Fox venue and Hotel Malaya.
The winners were seasoned hunters, which I am very impressed as the format of this game was completely extraordinary, in exception to 10 normal question which did not contribute to alot of points. After checking with organisers, we got about 10-11 place. Could have been a more satisfying hunt for me, but one thing is that it was FUN and I think that was the intent of the organisers when doing this. At the end of the day, luckily I'm a pure Malaysian and I was swayed by all the good food....:P

Oklar, call me a copyKAT (I am from Kuching after all), but since JS got his new phone, me wantz too..:D My old Sony Ericoson w810i kept shutting down on its own which was killer annoying...
So many featuresssss... oklar, the one i was really gunning for is the freakin GPS. Everytime my parents wanna go somewhere, I'm like.. err.. dono how. Now, I'm gonna be a Yes girl. Wanna go Klang? No problem.. Wanna go Glenmarie? No problemo... (provided map is in GPS lar...)
5 MP CAMERA oooOoo, time for me to click click click away... There should be much more photos on the blog, or at least clearer ones with this new nifty camera on my phone
Another cool feature is the Sync to Calendar feature, I'm not exactly the busiest person but its real cool to be able to see your appointments on the phone..
The only real downside to this is that this is probably the biggest phone I've had, its shiny surface (leave alot of ma fingerprints all over it), and the tiny weeny little keys... It makes it difficult to SMS but then at least I can send SMS on my laptop...
Buy one! Highly recommended, and I think the new black version just came out. Since I was previously on a Sony phone, I'm re-orintering myself back to a Nokia...
Check out the product specs from Nokia

JT got us and family tickets to watch Kam.. In Your Face. This is the excerpt of the sypnosis on the internet from kakiseni.com, and also from the Actors Studio Webpage.
"This comedy cabaret musical combines song and dance, stand-up comedy and skits with a generous amount of local wit and humour, a spoonful of intellect, a dash of Bollywood, a splice of rock n roll and disco, loads of fun and just enough risqué to spice up the show. The always irreverent and hilarious Joanne Kam will be joined by Gavin Yap, Douglas Lim, Susan Lankester, Fang Chyi, Ho Soon Yoon, Ash Nair, Ina Fabregas and Malik Taufiq."
Sounds riveting doesn't it? Unfortunately NOT.
The mistake I made is was:
1. Not reading other personal internet reviews before going to this...
(lainie's review)
2. Not drinking way alot of beer before going in.
Really I was expecting some comedy but to quote JT, it was a 2 hour emcee malaysian idol. The choreography was really horrendous, people were bumping into each other in every set.
Of People?
Susan Lankester in a burlesque scene? OMG was that painful to watch or what? *cringeeee*
I thought things would seriously get better in the 2nd set, but it really didn't. At least the first set had a skit part which was relatively OK (done by Joanne Kam). Suprise Surprise, I saw Vanessa Chong as one of the backup dancers here. (you might remember her from Amazing Race Asia 2). Thank God she didnt break out in song, else I would have shot myself. An unknown to me Ina Fabregas was also not bad. Let me say this for a fact, Joanne Kam really can't sing (proven in the finale set).
Of Songs?
The title and reviews boasts about it being risque and all, but none of the song lyrics were changed to fit the theme (except one or 2, kudos to Douglas Lim for his rap singing and writing).
Actually, come to think of it, I take that back, maybe there were some changes to all of them, but when most of the singers sing, I could barely understand what they were singing as the words sounds like "rem ram ront runt". The only exception to this was Douglas Lim.
Of Skits?
The skits were the most unbearable of them all. CSI:Petaling Street? Village People? Ionno man, at least CSI Petaling Street, I understood some story line, but the Village People completely lost me... It felt like a high school production at this point... in fact.. worst than a high school production, at least the people there are young and fresh and relatively good to look at. Aunties here just didnt do it for me. At this point, we were wanting to walk out already...
Let me not totally trash the show, the costumes were nice, and that was pretty much it. For the RM82, I watched a singing fashion show.
P.S Mid way through, they pulled out an unsuspecting audience member, Johnny and when asked whether he was enjoying the show, he was super honest and said "A bit-lar" HAhheahehahe
